TIME is an immersive journey through the nature of time – from its presence in the daily rhythms of nature to its role in the structure of the Universe. The film takes the viewer from simple observations of the movement of the Sun, Moon, and stars, through the history of human attempts to measure time, up to modern physics, which challenges our intuitive understanding of the present. On a cosmic scale, time ceases to be a single, universal measure. Dependent on motion, light, and the observer, it becomes a part of spacetime in which every event has its place. The film introduces the concepts of relativity, light cones, and entropy, showing why time has a direction and why we cannot travel back to the past. In the finale, the story returns to the human – to the way our brain experiences the present moment, constantly balancing between memory and prediction. TIME invites us to reflect on what our “now” is and how we choose to spend our time.
