50 years ago, the human race made history when astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong first stepped on the Moon. But what did it take to get us there? Why are they called the Apollo Missions? And what happened after? "Apollo: 50 Years of Innovation" gives us an in depth look at how the Apollo Missions came to be. Starting with the tragic disaster of Apollo 1, we we look towards the lesser discussed missions, and discuss their significance to the Apollo Program. Without these missions, Apollo 11 would have never seen the light of day. We also take a look at the missions that came prior, like the forgotten about Apollo 12, and the disaster of Apollo 13.
